New York City Civic Engagement Commission (CEC)

The Civic Engagement Commission enhances civic participation, promotes civic trust, and strengthens democracy in New York City by: 

• Running a citywide participatory budgeting program, The People's Money, that lets New Yorkers decide how to spend public money in partnership with community-based organizations and civic leaders;
• Providing language interpretation services at poll sites for limited English proficient New Yorkers through our Voter Language Assistance program; and
• Providing assistance and trainings to community boards.
