Health Bucks are $2 coupons that can be used to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables at all NYC farmers markets.
There are more than 130 farmers markets across the five boroughs every summer and fall. For the most up-to-date farmers market locations and days/hours of operation, visit the NYC Health Map. To find a farmers market near you, text “So Good” to 55676 (or “Muy Rico” for Spanish).
Many farmers markets host nutrition-related activities, such as food activities for kids, cooking demonstrations and adult nutrition workshops. To schedule a group visit for your organization’s community members to a Stellar Farmers Markets workshop at select farmers markets from July to November, email nutritioneducation@health.nyc.gov.
For every $2 spent at farmers markets using SNAP on an EBT card, you can get $2 in Health Bucks, up to $10 per day. Health Bucks are available year-round at NYC farmers markets that accept EBT.
Organizations can apply to receive free Health Bucks to distribute to community members as an incentive to participate in nutrition education and other health-related activities.
The 2024 Application for Free Health Bucks is now closed. Free Health Bucks are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The application will reopen in spring 2025.
If your organization would like to purchase Health Bucks coupons, email farmersmarkets@health.nyc.gov for more information.
