“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon Thanks Bellevue Staff for Saving Finger
“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon praised the staff at Bellevue Hospital Center during his show last night, thanking them for the care he received recently. Fallon underwent a microsurgery lasting more than six hours where doctors saved his finger using a vein from his foot. He explained to the audience his type of injury typically results in amputation, and referred to his medical team as “rock stars” and “awesome people.”

Bellevue Born: 6-year-old Boy Reunites with His Lifesavers
Last month a bright-eyed, rambunctious, healthy kindergartener came back to Bellevue Hospital to reunite with his surrogate family—the nurses, doctors and intensive care unit team who nurtured him the first four months of his life. James O’Leary was born at Bellevue Hospital Center three months before his due date, 10,000 miles from home.

Event Raises Awareness that CPR Saves Lives
Physicians and leaders from the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation’s (HHC) Bellevue Hospital Center today participated in the American Heart Association’s Hands-Only CPR relay in Times Square that set a new Guinness World Records title and brought awareness to the life-saving skill of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. About 40 Bellevue physicians, nurses and staff, and 700 people altogether participated in the CPR relay.
