Maria M. Del Toro, Commissioner

Maria M. Del Toro is Senior Vice President Public Affairs and Public Policy for the YMCA of Greater New York. Ms. Del Toro oversees all aspects of public affairs and public policy, including government relations and government funding. She has been in the present position since 2004.

Maria began her career at the YMCA of Greater New York in 1998 as Director of Fund Development, and later Vice President of Fund Development and Communications. Previously, she worked as Director of Community Outreach for the Manhattan Borough President's Office. Prior to that, she taught philosophy at CUNY - York College. Maria graduated with honors in philosophy and psychology from CUNY - York College, and went on to do her graduate work in philosophy at Princeton and Columbia Universities as a Ford Foundation Doctoral Fellow.
