Frequently Asked Questions

What is Central Intake?
All land use and CEQR applications and any associated fees are submitted to DCP's Central Intake Office located on the second floor, east,  at 22 Reade Street  in Manhattan.   An application may be rejected if the necessary information as indicated on the instructions forms is not provided or if the correct fee is not included.

When may applications be submitted?
Applications may be submitted during regular business days from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.


What if no one is available at Central Intake when I arrive to submit an application?
Applications will be accepted during the hours indicated above.  If Central Intake staff is not available, information will be provided at Central Intake's desk to assist you in filing.


How do I get Land Use Review Forms and Instructions?
Land Use Review Forms and Instructions are available for download in WordPerfect, MS Word and Adobe Acrobat. Forms are also available in hard copy for $3 or on CD for $12 at the DCP Bookstore on the first floor at 22 Reade Street.


How do I determine the fee for my Land Use or CEQR application?
The new Land Use and CEQR Fee Schedules became effective August 10, 2009.


How do I find Block and Lot and other information for the application?
Block and Lot information is available on the DCP website with the Address Translator. Census, population and community information are also available.


Who can answer my questions about zoning?
Zoning maps and text are available on the Department of City Planning website. Zoning information is also available at DCP's Zoning Help Desk at (212)720-3291.


Who should I contact if I have questions about preparing an application?
For information on the process for completing and submitting applications for changes to the city map, please contact the Technical Review Division. For all other applications please contact the appropriate DCP borough office.
