The Mayors
Office of Immigrant Affairs honored more than 2,000 civil servants, including
10 DSNY employees, for using their foreign language skills to translate
and interpret vital information. There are a total of 23 volunteers from
the Sanitation Department that cover 10 different languages, including
sign language, to ensure effective communication between the Department,
our City and beyond.
