I would like to thank all of you who supported our first Sanitation Family Day by coming out and enjoying this great event at our Floyd Bennett Field Training facility on Sunday, August 14th. Because of your attendance, our first family day was a rousing success. With nearly 4,000 Sanitation employees and their families present, it was a wonderful gathering of the Sanitation family with enough food and cool drinks for all on a hot, but beautiful summer day. We were fortunate to have Mayor Bloomberg meet and greet many of you as a part of the celebration. A very special thank you to First Deputy Commissioner Michael Bimonte, his staff, and all who volunteered their time, effort, and good will in making family day such a huge success.
