The Fire Department of the City of New York issues
Certificates of Fitness for various occupations by providing tests
to applicants. Certificates of Fitness is required by laws and regulations
to conduct certain businesses within the New York City for hazardous
occupations.
Below you will find information about the testing procedure, fees
and the verification process.

COMPANIES OR GROUPS WITH 5 OR MORE INDIVIDUALS TAKING 2 OR MORE TESTS OR 10 INDIVIDUALS TAKING ONE TEST MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT AT 718-999-1990 OR ARAYAE@FDNY.NYC.GOV. THE FDNY RESERVES THE RIGHT TO LIMIT WALK IN APPLICANTS BASED UPON AVAILABLE SEATS OF THE TESTING CENTER.
