Firefighters Honored by Liberty Mutual for Rescue

Lt. Gregory Prial and Firefighter John Haseney from Ladder 43 received a Firemark Award for Heroism from Liberty Mutual on May 18.

They were honored for the rescue of a woman in East Harlem on March 3.

“We really appreciate this,” said Lt. Prial upon receiving the award at his Manhattan firehouse. “I’m just glad everything worked out that night.”

They said after the woman was released from the hospital, she stopped by the firehouse to thank them.

“This is an honor,” Firefighter Haseney said. “We’re thankful she’s OK. This is just a bonus.”
