FIRE COMMISSIONER NICHOLAS
SCOPPETTA
TO RELEASE FIRST FDNY STRATEGIC PLAN
Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta tomorrow
will release the Fire Department’s Strategic Plan for
2004 and 2005. The Strategic Plan—the first of its kind
to be published in the Department’s history—outlines
the Department’s goals and initiatives for the next
two years. The Plan is built upon recommendations contained
in the August 2002 McKinsey Report—which provided an
operational review of the Department’s response on September
11, 2001.
The Strategic Plan will help guide operational and policy
changes within the Department with regards to emergency response
operations, health and safety of Department members, management
and organizational development, diversity, fire prevention
and education and technological advancements.
