SECOND DEPLOYMENT OF FDNY RESOURCES TO NEW ORLEANS FOR HURRICANE KATRINA DISASTER RELIEF

Firefighters from first deployment also scheduled to return tonight

The New York City Fire Department today will send a second deployment of personnel to New Orleans to continue to provide assistance to the New Orleans Fire Department in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. More than 135 FDNY personnel will be deployed to assist in fire suppression activities and responses to other emergencies throughout New Orleans .
