LIEUTENANT HOWARD J. CARPLUK, JR.

Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta will join family, friends and Fire Department members in paying their final respects to Lieutenant Howard J. Carpluk, Jr. of Engine Company 42 in the Bronx. Lt. Carpluk, 43, was fatally injured while battling a third-alarm fire in the South Bronx on August 27. After originally being transported to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, he was transferred to Montefiore Medical Center where he died the following day.
