FDNY TO CELEBRATE THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF
ENGINE COMPANY 273 AND LADDER COMPANY 129
Officers, firefighters and former members of Engine Company 273 and Ladder Company 129 in Flushing, Queens, tomorrow will celebrate 100 years of dedicated service to the community and the City.
During the ceremony, a plaque will be dedicated to honor two members of Ladder 129 who died in the line of duty - Firefighter Ernest Mattes, who died in 1935, and Firefighter Richard Schultz, who died in 1959.
More than 80 retired members will attend the ceremony, including a 97-year-old retired firefighter who served at the firehouse in the 1930s.
