On March 17, more than a thousand firefighters and EMS personnel marched up Fifth Avenue in Manhattan for the 246th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Among the marchers were Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Fire Commissioner Nicholas Scoppetta, Chief of Department Salvatore Cassano and Chief of Operations Patrick McNally.
