March 1, 2007 - Officials from Sony Plaza, an upscale retailer in the Asian market with approximately 100 stores in the Japanese region, have requested MOFTB-licensed apparel to be sold in its April promotional program.
According to New York Popular, New York City's Official Licensee, the MOFTB line will be distributed throughout Sony Plaza stores as part of the promotional program.
The program has a New York City theme and will include other upscale brands from the city. New York Popular has created some new designs for this special retail opportunity, all of which reflect the upscale, fashionable and high-quality apparel in the existing collection.
As an approved retailer for the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting, Sony Plaza would represent excellent promotion and exposure for the MOFTB in the Asian market, said Lloyd Haymes, Vice President of New York Popular.
“We are thrilled to be working with Sony Plaza for this exciting retail sales opportunity,” he said. “We hope this is just the beginning of future sales to this and other upscale retailers in the Asian and other global markets.”
In addition, all of the Mayor's Office of Film, Theatre and Broadcasting apparel, branded under the “Made in NY” imprimatur, are made exclusively in the city.
“Made in NY” merchandise is available for purchase online at New York City's official licensed products website - www.officialnycshop.com. It’s also available at a variety of other upscale retailers. Macy’s Herald Square is anchoring the collection with an offering of all styles.
Additional retailers include The CBS Store; The CityStore, the official store of the City of New York; cultural institutions such as the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Museum of Modern Art and New York Public Library; and upscale hotels such as Le Parker Meridien.
