MORE NEW MOTHERS BREASTFEED AFTER GIVING BIRTH AT CITY PUBLIC HOSPITALS
More women who deliver babies at the HHC's 11 public hospitals are choosing breast milk for their infants. HHC estimates that about 80 percent of women who delivered at public hospitals in 2008 chose breastfeeding and 31 percent of women chose exclusive breastfeeding. That's an increase from 27 percent in 2006.
