Mediation Center Meets with New Deputy Commissioner for Citywide EEO
On August 3, 2007, OATH’s Chief Judge, Deputy Chief ALJ and Mediation Center Director, met with DCAS Commissioner Martha K. Hirst and newly appointed Deputy Commissioner for Citywide EEO, Diane Crothers. The meeting focused on the Center’s accomplishments, specifically, its collaborative work with DCAS’s Organizational and Executive Development Programs and the Office of Citywide EEO. The discussion touched on collaborative ways to help increase awareness of the Center throughout City government and to expand the use of mediation and other conflict management initiatives to better manage workplace disputes. Both the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner expressed a genuine sense of encouragement and satisfaction with the Center’s work and philosophy and agreed to help advance the program.
