$aveNYC Account Program

The $aveNYC Account offers eligible tax filers a unique opportunity to use a portion of their refund to build savings. Eligible filers include families (with dependents) earning less than $50,000 and individuals earning less than $18,000.

If you qualify, here’s how the account works:

Save $200 or more of your refund in a $aveNYC Account for a year and earn 50¢ for every dollar you save—up to a maximum deposit of $1,000—from the City of New York. If you save $1,000, you will earn $500.
