In one of my proudest moments as NYC Human Rights Commissioner, we signed agreements with the CEOs of the City’s largest advertising agencies who will increase their minority ranks—particularly in the creative and managerial positions—making their workforce more reflective of the City’s rich diversity. The agreements require 16 ad firms to establish recruitment, promotion, and retention goals and issue an annual report specifying the race, title and salary of each employee hired and promoted.

The New York City Council conducted an investigation between January and April 2007, in which Council investigators surveyed 37 nanny agencies, checked whether they were licensed, checked for inclusion of license numbers on agencies' advertisements, and interviewed nannies about their experiences with agencies.
