Clean Streets Coming to a Corridor Near You!

The Mosholu Preservation Corporation will implement a Clean Streets project on Kingsbridge Road.

June 6, 2007 – The New York City Department of Small Business Services recently announced the recipients of Clean Streets, a capacity-building program which will provide funding to help organizations implement sanitation and maintenance programs in commercial corridors and allow them to participate in an organizational development program over a two year period.

The awardees are:

The Bronx Business Alliance, which will focus on Westchester Avenue from Middletown Road to Bruckner Blvd.; Buhre Avenue from Pilgrim to Jarvis Avenue; Crosby Avenue between Westchester Avenue and Middletown Road; and Middletown Road between Westchester and Mayflower Road in Pelham Bay.

The Mosholu Preservation Corporation, which will focus on Kingsbridge Road between Grand Concourse West and Sedgwick Avenue and Jerome Avenue between E/W 192 and E/W 195 Street in Kingsbridge.

The Bridge Street Development Corporation, which will focus on Tompkins Avenue between Halsey Street and Putnam Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

Heart of Brooklyn, which will focus on Washington Avenue between Eastern Parkway and Atlantic Avenue in Prospect Heights/Crown Heights.

The Lower East Side BID, which will focus on Houston to Delancey Street between Clinton and Essex Street on the Lower East Side.

The Union Square Partnership, which will focus on 14th street from 1st Ave to Avenue B in Union Square.

Central Astoria, which will focus on 30th Avenue between Crescent and Steinway Streets in Astoria.

The Downtown Staten Island Council, which will focus on Richmond Terrace/Bay Street between Wall St and Victory Blvd, Stuyvesant Place between Wall and Hyatt Street and Victory Blvd between Bay Street and St. Mark's Place in St. George, Staten Island.

Projects are expected to begin this fall.
