The Mayor's Office for People (MOPD), in operation since 1972, works hand-in-hand with City agencies to ensure that the voice of the disabled community is represented. MOPD provides information to over 948,000 New Yorkers with disabilities and the millions of people with disabilities visiting New York City each year.
MOPD supports the NYC Hurricane Service Center opened to assist residents of Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands and provide information and resources for those with disabilities looking to relocate to NYC. If you are a person with a disability seeking employment within NYC, MOPD has recently launched a program that can assist you, NYC: ATWORK.
NYC:ATWORK is an initiative that connects people with disabilities to meaningful, living wage jobs. The initiative focuses on creating a pipeline of talented candidates including youth, college students and graduates, and recipients of state vocational rehabilitation services.

Disability Specific Resources
Disability Service Facilitators (DSFs) are the city's points of contact for people with disabilities. City agencies have an appointed DSF who can assist with inquires and issues of accessibility in their agency.
