Mayor Mamdani appointed Rafael Espinal as Commissioner of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, beginning February 23, 2026. As Commissioner, Espinal will advance the Mamdani administration’s agenda to ensure NYC remains a place where artists and creatives can afford to live and work.
