The 2022 update to the NYCgov Poverty Measure reveals a significant reversal from pandemic-era conditions. With the expiration of temporary federal aid and rising costs for essential goods, financial hardship intensified for many New Yorkers, leading the NYCgov poverty rate to surpass that recorded before the pandemic.
The Community Compensation Fund (CCF) pilot program offers cash gift cards (physical or digital) to City Agency teams to engage and compensate community members for their time and input participating in activities that improve the City’s work.
