By mail: Respond early enough to allow for mail delivery. Follow the instructions on the back of the ticket. Enclose a check or money order for the full amount indicated on the front of the ticket. Write the ticket number, your license plate number, and the state of the vehicle registration on the front of your payment.

Pay in-person

Before visiting a business center regarding a booted or towed vehicle, please be aware of the following:

  • To remove a boot from your vehicle, please visit www.nycbootpay.com to pay by credit or debit card, or call Republic Immobilization Services at (646) 517-1000 to pay by credit or debit card or bank account withdrawal. Please note that if you call, you may experience a long hold time. Republic Information Services is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • If you recently enrolled in a payment plan with Republic Immobilization Services, your vehicle is not at risk of being booted or towed. You will receive more information from the Department of Finance soon.
  • If your vehicle has not been booted, but you owe judgment violations and would like to enter into a payment plan, you can request a payment plan online.

Unless you have a vehicle that has been booted or towed, please schedule an appointment before visiting a DOF business center. You can also conduct many Department of Finance transactions online.
