The NYC Board of Correction is monitoring temperatures in NYC jails during Summer 2024 (Memorial through Labor Day). During this period, Board staff will visit each facility eight times on a random schedule.

2. at least two fans were provided and ice delivered between 12pm and

sensitive when outdoor temperatures exceed 85°F (before 8/3/2024)
or 80°F (after 8/3/2024).
N indicates
that:
1. temperatures exceeded 80°F in housing areas for people in custody
who are clinically designated heat sensitive; OR
2. that at least two fans were not provided or ice was not delivered
between 12pm and 4pm in housing areas for people in custody who
