Support for Small
Businesses
|
Know a
small business that could use help with a
buildings-related issue? Refer them to the Department's
Small Business Support Team (SBT).
DOB
offers one-on-one guidance to small business owners and
other small organizations on planned or ongoing
construction projects. The DOB experts at SBT can assist
with inspections, navigating the permitting process, and
resolving DOB-issued violations, helping business owners
save both time and money. Whether opening a new place of
business or renovating an existing one, New Yorkers can
get the dedicated support they need from the
Small Business Support Team.
For
additional available resources and support, business
owners can contact the NYC Department of Small Business
Services'
NYC Business Express Service Team (BEST). |
Updated SST Cards
|
Reminder
that DOB will begin enforcing the requirement for
updated NYC DOB Training Connect SST ID Cards on the
City's larger and more complex work sites starting on
March 18th, 2023.
These
updated SST cards are only issued by approved DOB
training providers through NYC DOB Training Connect. The
cards include a NFC chip which can be scanned to
validate the authenticity of the card, in an effort to
prevent fraud.
Don't
delay! If you have an older SST card, issued before
January 1, 2022, contact the course provider who issued
their card today to have it replaced with a new NYC DOB
Training Connect SST ID Card.

DOB Launches PSA
Videos
|
The
Department of Buildings is committed to promoting safe
work practices on building construction sites across our
City. Every year, falls are found to be the most common
cause of building construction-related fatalities and
serious injuries in this City. The best way to prevent
these worker falls is to follow all applicable OSHA and
DOB requirements for properly safeguarding your
construction site.
To help
ensure that these important safety measures are not
overlooked, the Department has unveiled new public
service announcement videos highlighting fall prevention
measures and the requirement for mandatory construction
safety training on NYC's larger and more complex work
sites.
