The moratorium on the issuance
of certain accessory sign violations and the temporary
assistance program for certain accessory signs has been
extended to January 1, 2023 via
Local Law 29 of 2021.

Moratorium on
the Issuance of Certain Accessory Sign
Violations Until January 1, 2023, DOB will
not issue violations for business storefront signs that
existed before February 9, 2019 and neither exceed
150 sq. ft. in area nor exceed 1,200lbs in weight,
unless the sign creates an imminent threat to public health
or safety.
Temporary Assistance Program for Certain Accessory Signs
Up until January 1, 2023, the Department will waive all
filing fees for sign permits for those who received a sign
violation
under certain conditions.
