and is a great opportunity for New Yorkers to meet
directly with DOB experts in-person to get answers to
their questions about city construction regulations,

Safety Regulations
|
New
updates to regulations and procedures are now in effect
for design professionals, contractors and site safety
professionals working in NYC.
As of
July 15th, 2022, Site Safety Plans (SSP) can be
submitted in DOB NOW: Build before the job is
approved by the Department. In addition, new SSP
submissions are no longer required for subsequent
filings for the same job in DOB NOW.
As of
June 1, 2022, the Department of Buildings is no longer
issuing permits if the Construction Superintendent
designated on the permit application is already
designated on five or more active permits. This
regulation is pursuant to
Local Law 149 of 2021, which reduced the number
of jobs a Construction Superintendent can work on at the
same time.

about these changes, and more procedural updates at DOB |
DOB NOW Updates
|
In
response to feedback received from our customers at
recent Q&A Sessions and Industry Meetings, the following
system update was made to DOB NOW: Build:
-
"Incomplete reasons" provided by a Chief or
Assistant Chief Plan Examiner during the
Department's plan review process are now appearing
on the Objections/Appointments tab in DOB NOW, and
are no longer on the Trace History page. The
"incomplete reasons" are also provided in the email
notification sent to all stakeholders on the filing.
Join us
for one of our
upcoming online borough-specific Q&A Sessions and
Industry Meetings. Every week, DOB holds these
online events for industry professionals and members of
the public, which are a great opportunity to stay in the
loop with the latest updates at the Department, get your
job-specific and regulation questions answered, and
provide feedback on ways we can improve existing
Department processes. |
