DOB Launches Elevator Safety Campaign
On July 5th, the Department launched a public safety campaign to remind New Yorkers that if stuck in an elevator, the safest place to be is inside the car. Though elevators are among the safest forms of transportation, you still need to use common sense when riding in an elevator. Last year two New Yorkers were fatally injured trying to escape stalled elevator cars. Once again, if you're stuck, stay safe by remaining inside the car until help arrives.
