DOB Releases New Real-Time Major Construction Map
Earlier this month, DOB published a new, real-time interactive map of all major construction projects in the city, showing almost 200 million square feet - over 7 square miles - of new square footage currently under construction in New York City. This "Construction on Your Block" map allows the public to easily find the latest information, in granular detail, about new building and major alteration projects in their neighborhoods. This map is the latest analytics tool created by the Department that leverages data to better inform the New Yorkers about the city's built environment. DOB to Open Customer Service Atrium
On Monday, September 10, six central units within the Department will begin moving into DOB's new Customer Service Atrium, located on the ground floor of DOB's headquarters at 280 Broadway in Lower Manhattan. This new location will act as a one-stop shop for many of the public's transactions with DOB.
The following schedule will be in place the
week of September 10: New Website for Plan Examiner Appointments On October 1, the Department will launch a new online self-service appointments system to replace the current process of calling 311 to make an appointment with a DOB plan examiner. The new website will enable customers to directly see a plan examiner’s availability, as well as schedule, cancel, and review appointments online. Elevator Inspection and Test Filings in DOB NOW: Safety Big news coming up in the elevator world: NYC is just one week away from the launch of DOB NOW: Safety for elevator compliance filings.
