Make the Correction: Effective October 3, 2020, there is an increase in DOB civil penalties for buildings, other than
one- and two-family dwellings, that fail to file an acceptable
Certificate of Correction for an Immediately Hazardous Class
1 Summons (AEUHAZ). See the full

Additional Penalty Payments Moved Online: Beginning
November 2, 2020, Immediately Hazardous (AEUHAZ) and
Benchmarking
Violation civil penalty payments can no longer be mailed in
and must be submitted in
eFiling.
Payments received by mail after this date
will be returned to the sender with instructions to pay online.

Refresher Training Renewal Requirements Resume: Rigging, scaffold, and
concrete safety refresher training cards and certificates that
expired during the time period covered by Executive Orders 120
and 149 must be renewed by November 9, 2020. For more

Certain Plan Reviews May Not Require Appointment: As of October 15,
2020, disapproved Buildings Information System (BIS) jobs, resubmissions and Post Approval Amendments (PAAs) reviewed by
DOB plan examiners may not require an appointment. For
disapproved BIS jobs on or after this date, applicants will
receive a disposition in eFiling, and a message in both BIS and
eFiling indicating if an appointment is required. All PAAs for
plan examined jobs submitted after October 15, 2020 will
have a first review without the need for an appointment. Jobs
disapproved or PAAs filed prior to this date, must
schedule an appointment. See the full
