Have a great idea on how
to improve New York City's buildings and construction sites? We
want to hear about it!
Apply for our
"Hack The Building Code" innovation challenge, which is asking
the public for their best ideas on ways we can improve how we
can design, construct and maintain our city of over 1.1 million
buildings.
Winners of this
innovation challenge will receive DOB technical support and
assistance in introducing their technology to NYC's design and
construction industries.

New Customer Service
Hours at DOB
|
Beginning Monday,
November 1st, 2021, all DOB customer service locations
in New York City, except the Licensing Unit, will be be
operating with new public office hours for in-person and
drop-off transactions, open Monday through Friday, 8:30
am to 12:00 pm. The licensing Unit will continue to
conduct transactions with members of the public by
appointment until 2:00 pm.
The DOB Records
Rooms in all borough offices will be closed from Monday,
November 1st until Friday, November 5th. An additional
Service Notice will be posted with further updates.

Property Owner's
Guide to Resolving an OATH Summons
|
On Friday,
November 12th, property owners in New York City are
invited to join us for a live DOB webinar event, providing a deep dive into
how to resolve specific OATH summonses issued by DOB, including
work without a permit issues and illegal conversions.
This educational
webinar, presented by DOB staff, will provide
information about certifying the correction of these
kinds of violations, so owners can avoid additional
summonses and penalties.

New Energy Letter
Grades
|
This is
your final reminder, large buildings in New York City
must post their 2021 Energy Efficiency Letter Grades at
their public entrances by Sunday, October 31st. Failure
to post your letter grade sign may result in a
violation.
These letter grade signs provide a
quick snapshot of a building's energy efficiency in an
easy to understand format for building owners, tenants
and members of the public.
