Dear fellow New Yorker,
Black history is New York City history and American history. At a celebration of Black History month at Gracie Mansion, Mayor Adams invited several members of Congress and the State Legislature, to pay homage to long-serving and iconic South Carolina Congressman James Clyburn.
Last week, the Mayor joined New York’s Sherpa brothers and sisters to celebrate the Tibetan Buddhist New Year, known as Losar. Mayor Adams thanked Tibetans for making our city even stronger with their rich culture and generosity.
Happy St. Lucian Independence Day! St. Lucian New Yorkers are part of our vibrant Caribbean community, and the Mayor extended his gratitude for the substantive contributions St. Lucians make on a daily basis to New York culture through their music, songs, hard work and devotion to family.
On the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, New York City reaffirms that it stands in solidarity with our Ukrainian neighbors. City Hall was lit in the colors of the Ukrainian flag, blue and yellow, on Friday.
