Dear fellow New Yorker
March is Women’s History Month and March 8th was International Women’s Day. Mayor Adams is committed to leading on gender equity with “Women Forward NYC: An Action Plan for Gender Equity.” The Mayor has also enshrined reproductive rights with the Sexual and Reproductive Bill of Rights. We celebrate the trailblazers that have broken glass ceilings to create a more equitable New York City for all.
Spring is in the air! Daylight Saving Time began on March 10th. Make sure you set your clocks forward one hour if you have not already done so.

Dining Out NYC: Application Portal is Now Open
In August 2023, Mayor Adams signed legislation that will create the largest permanent outdoor dining program in the United States. Dining Out NYC builds upon lessons learned during the temporary Open Restaurants program and will make outdoor dining more accessible, safe, and inviting. All eligible food service establishments are welcome to apply citywide. To help food establishments understand the requirements for outdoor dining, NYC DOT has created interactive Setup Guides for roadway and sidewalk cafes. For questions, resources, and more information about the New Outdoor Dining Program, visit Dining Out NYC.

Established in partnership with the Urban Investment Group at Goldman Sachs and the Community Preservation Corporation (CPC) the new "New York City Minority Business Enterprise Guaranty Facility" is expected to enable as much as $500 million in private construction lending to MBEs.
Cash Assistance and SNAP Application Backlogs Nearly Eliminated: Mayor Adams announced that the administration has nearly cleared the backlogs of cash assistance and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) applications — that peaked at more than 50,0000 — ensuring low-income New Yorkers can quickly and easily access the federal benefits they qualify for. While over 46,000 cash assistance applications and over 4,000 SNAP applications were pending on-time processing last summer, the Adams administration’s investments in staffing, technology, and process improvements has eliminated the backlog of cases by 97 and 90 percent, respectively.
