Dear fellow New Yorker
We would like to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Detective Jonathan Diller who tragically lost his life last week. The wake and funeral that took place this past week served as a solemn reminder of the sacrifice and dedication of our law enforcement officers who bravely serve and protect our City. We all mourn this loss, and we stand in solidarity with the NYPD during this difficult time.
As we reflect on the past week, we want to take a moment to acknowledge the recent observances of Holy Week, culminating in Easter Sunday, as well as Purim, Holi, Nowruz, and the ongoing celebration of Ramadan in our diverse community. Although these significant holidays have already taken place or are currently being celebrated, we want to extend our warmest wishes to all those who observed and participated in these occasions.
We would also like to recognize the Transgender Day of Visibility, which was celebrated this past weekend. This day serves as a reminder to celebrate the transgender community, raise awareness about the challenges they face, and advocate for inclusivity and acceptance for all individuals.
Finally, Mayor Adams invited the Woodhaven community “Talk with Eric” at a neighborhood town hall in Queens. We appreciate all the New Yorkers who came out to share their concerns with the Mayor, members of the administration, and city agencies.
