Tax Day 2024 is just around the corner. If you earned $85,000 or less last year, then you are eligible to get your taxes done for FREE with our NYC Free Tax Prep program. To learn more information please visit: https://nyc.gov/taxprep. The deadline to file a tax return for your 2023 taxes is April 15, 2024, but NYC Free Tax Prep preparers provide assistance all year round. 

This week, we mark the end of the Holy month of Ramadan with the celebration of Eid. We want to take this opportunity to wish our Muslim community a prosperous Eid.

April is also National Arab American Heritage Month. We join in celebrating the achievements of Arab Americans and their rich heritage. New York City is proud of its Arab community and their numerous contributions to our local culture.

Youth Action Month 2024

April is Youth Action Month! Mayor Adams Announces First Annual Increase In Minimum Pay Rate For App-Based Restaurant Delivery Workers

Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP) Commissioner Vilda Vera Mayuga announced that, effective immediately, the city's minimum pay rate for app-based restaurant delivery workers is increasing to at least $19.56 per hour before tips. The $19.56 rate reflects the 2024 phase-in rate of $18.96 and an inflation adjustment of 3.15 percent – up from an average of just $5.39 per hour before enforcement began.

Mayor Adams, Corporation Counsel Hinds-Radix Announce Lawsuit Against 11 Companies Illegally Distributing Disposable Flavored E-Cigarettes

Mayor Eric Adams and New York City Corporation Counsel Sylvia O. Hinds-Radix today announced that the City of New York has filed a lawsuit against 11 wholesalers for their part in the illegal sale of flavored disposable e-cigarettes, the most popular vaping devices among middle school and high school youth.
