Department of Youth & Community Development Privacy Policy ("DocUp Mobile App Privacy Policy")

The DYCD DocUP Mobile Application (the "App") is produced by the New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (“DYCD”). DYCD is a New York City municipal agency that invests in a network of Community-Based Organizations (“CBOs”) and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and NYC communities to flourish. DYCD administers a range of programs for residents of New York City; people; the administration of these programs involves participants, including young New Yorkers, interacting with DYCD and CBOs.

Delivering these programs involves individuals providing supporting documentation to prove they are eligible to participate. Both participants and CBOs use the DocUP App to upload documentation.

The App has been available to young people in New York for some time now and is critical to the operations of DYCD. This App has proven to improve program efficiency while keeping participant information secure.    

The App is governed by the App's Terms of Use, available from the Disclaimer page within the App.

Your Content: The App does not store any personal content entered by you. Once entered and submitted, it is sent securely and privately to the DYCD internal systems for processing and is removed from the App.

Mobile Device Information: The App does collect the following information about your mobile device ("Device Information"): (1) device id and operating system type; (2) IP address; and (3) the date(s) and time(s) you open the App. Your Device Information which may be collected on behalf of the City by a third-party contractor, will be shared with the City solely for the purpose of improving the App and aggregate reporting on App usage. The City will not use any Device Information that could identify or locate a person in any reporting. The City will not use any Device Information that could identify or locate a person in any reporting.

The City does not use any Device Information for commercial or marketing purposes.

Camera and Images: The App requires access to your camera and local image files to allow you to upload your information to support your application. Any image taken while within the App is not saved or stored in any photo gallery on your mobile device and is only stored within the context of the App. Once the App is closed the images you’ve taken within the App will also be removed.

Location Tracking: The App does not use location services on your mobile device.

This is a standalone mobile application where no user credentials are required. No data is saved or stored on the App, so your data is not at risk. This is an anonymous service that requires basic data to be gathered upon intake to accurately process your documents to support your application, but once submitted all details are wiped from the App. Thus, no registration or account creation process is required.
