ANCHOR RESOURCE:

YPAR(Youth-led Participatory Action Research)
An innovative approach to positive youth and community development based in social justice principles in which young people are trained to conduct systemic research to improve their lives, their communities, and the institution intended to serve them.

The Project Plan

The Youth Development Institute has created a Summer Project plan designed to assist providers in the implementation of the SYEP Pride campaign that focuses on the discovery of activities that focus on Relationship Building strategies to identify, grasp and understanding of how activities can be organized and are communicated and the impact they have on the community. This plan uses content from The Hetrick-Martin Institute (HMI) and the YPAR HUB as it's key resources.

Exploration Resources
The YPAR hub Community Mapping page provides content designed to support young people in the creation of a visual representation of their community to assist young people in developing an understanding of it's current conditions. https://youtu.be/Yx5_QQHUNLk

The YPAR hub survey page provides a look at how young people can use surveys as a means of collecting information from people within the community. Lessons are provided that will assist in the creation of surveys, how to test them, and administer them.
