National Community Action Partnership Convention
The NYC Department of Youth and Community Development is proud to co-host the National Community Action Partnership Convention in New York City from August 31 – September 02, 2022.  The Annual Convention provides Community Action Agency professionals and board members with the latest policy and programmatic updates and management and governance tools. Special emphasis will be placed on effective strategies for transforming communities and changing the lives of Community Action customers.

National Night Out   
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that
promotes police-community partnerships. This year the celebration took place on
August 2, and DYCD staff attended 41 of the events sharing information about
our wide range of services with community members and telling them about the

Not One More Shot
Take the pledge today! DYCD invites all New Yorkers to join the fight to end gun violence as part of the City's #NotOneMoreShotNYC Campaign. Not One More Shot honors young people's role in reducing gun violence through their own decisions. See some brilliant ideas

Saturday Night Lights 
Mayor Adams announced the expansion of the Saturday Night Light (SNL) program. The additional 25 new sites bring the total to 131 community gyms across the five boroughs to combat gun violence in our communities. The program provides free high-quality sports and Saturday night activities for #NYCYouth ages 11-18, including basketball, soccer, volleyball,
dance, martial arts, and more.

Recruiting younger NAB members 
Are you 16 years old or older and want to discuss what your community needs? Your community needs your voice, energy, and passion. Join your neighborhood advisory board (NAB) and decide neighborhood priorities. Complete an application today! 

Residents interested in joining a NAB and playing an essential role in their community
should
complete an application, or contact DYCD's Community Connect by phone at
1-800-246-4646, Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM, or by email at

Neighborhood Development Area (NDA) Public Hearings  
Attend your community’s public hearing and share what is most needed in your neighborhood. Community voice informs and determines how federal funds for social services for low-income individuals and families are spent. The public hearings occur virtually and in-person.  Sign-up for the Public Hearing virtual session or attend the in-person session to testify. All sessions are open to the general public if you live or work in the Neighborhood Development Area (NDA).
