The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is accepting applications through the new deadline of Friday, March 30, 2018. (SYEP) provides New York City youth between the ages of 14 and 24 with summer employment. SYEP participants work in a variety of entry-level jobs at government agencies, hospitals, summer camps, nonprofits, small businesses, law firms, museums, sports enterprises, and retail organizations. DYCD, in conjunction with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), NYC Health + Hospitals, the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA), NYC Department for the Aging (DFTA) and New York City Department of Parks & Recreation, will host 35 Spring into Health Fairs in all five boroughs from April 10 through April 14, 2018. Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss. The Brooklyn Children's Museum is offering a tuition-free summer program that will run Monday through Fridays from 8:30am to 5:45pm throughout the summer. The program will operate from P.S. 189, located at 1100 East New York Avenue in Brooklyn, and participants will take field trips to the Museum and other cultural institutions across the city. NYU School of Professional Studies (NYUSPS) Aspire is a scholarship program for rising high school juniors and seniors from underrepresented communities who will be first-generation college students. Aspire is a two-year college prep and mentoring program that features a variety of classes and workshops, which will prepare selected applicants for the college admissions process and experience. The program begins with a one-week college immersion intensive in the summer and continues with support throughout your junior and senior year in high school. The Harlem Youth Court trains teenagers to serve as jurors, judges and advocates, handling real-life cases involving their peers. The goal of the Harlem Youth Court is to use positive peer pressure to ensure that young people who have committed minor offenses learn accountability and restore the harm done to the community and receive the help they need to avoid further involvement in the justice system. Through this experience, members develop critical thinking, leadership and public speaking skills that will benefit them now and in their futures. Youth court members determine fair and appropriate sanctions for respondents. Sanctions may include community service, a letter of apology, an essay, conflict resolution workshops, or goal-setting and skill-building workshops. Year Up's mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experience, and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. This is done through a yearlong intensive training program that features six-months of professional training in IT, Financial Operations, Sales & Customer Support, Business Operations, or Software Development, followed by six months of corporate internship with a respected company. The Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corporation's Summer Internship Program connects graduating college-attending or college-bound undergraduate students to a wide range of work opportunities with businesses within the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Over the course of an eight-week session, students will be connected to Yard-based businesses and departments according to their future career interests, skillsets and educational background. Do you know a teenager that loves to write? Invite them to be part of Youth Communication's 39th annual intensive summer writing workshop. They will get one-on-one mentoring, write stories about their life, and meet other New York City writers, in addition to receiving a $1,000 stipend and a daily MetroCard. MyBioSource is not only a supporter of students pursuing degree in the science fields but to all students in general who are working hard to obtain a higher education. With that, MyBioSource is honored to offer a scholarship program for all other majors outside of S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The Edward & Ellen Roche Relief Foundation was established in 1953 to support organizations serving disadvantaged women and children. Specifically, funding will be provided to nonprofits that help ensure the well-being and self-sufficiency of low-income women and their families. Recognizing the diverse array of programs that serve these populations, the Roche Relief Foundation has chosen to focus its limited resources on programs that serve the following populations:

• Unemployed or underemployed women
• Immigrants
• Victims of domestic or sexual violence

In addition, organizations providing the following will be prioritized:

• Financial assistance and counseling
• Job training and placement
• Comprehensive support services to a distinct disadvantaged population
