The Ladders for Leaders
Application is Now Available!
Ladders for Leaders is a nationally recognized program that offers high school and college students the opportunity to participate in paid professional summer internships with leading corporations, non-profit organizations and government agencies in New York City. Ladders for Leaders give students a unique opportunity to explore their interests and discover new ones through:
- Pre-employment Training: Receive help with résumé and cover letter writing, and interviewing skills. Learn essential workplace readiness skills and business etiquette.
- Paid Summer Internships: Paid internship opportunities available in a variety of industries to accommodate student interests.
- Opportunity to join our growing Alumni Network: Broad network of alumni, post-internship opportunities and networking events open only to past participants of the program.

Free Dance Residency for
NYC High School Students
All New York City high schools are invited to apply by January 11, 2019 for Moves!, a physical activity through dance after-school residency offered in partnership with NYC-based dance education providers. The Office of School Wellness Programs is partnering with Cumbe: Center for African and Diaspora Dance, Dancewave, and Dreamyard to offer high school students the opportunity to participate in a free after-school, 15-week physical activity residency in hip-hop, West African, or modern dance at your school beginning January 25.

Teens in Politics
The founding mission of Teens in Politics is to make political internship and volunteer opportunities more readily available for high school students. They offer the opportunity for students and young adults to experience the world in politics and get a head start on their political career. They display the latest internship positions in the New York City area available for high school students and are looking to expand for the 2020 Election cycle.
Federal Diversity Internship Initiative
If you want to spend your life serving the public good, consider a satisfying career as federal employee. Join students from a wide variety of backgrounds, exploring potential careers with select U.S. federal agencies. In this highly selective program, you’ll get first-hand insight into working for the federal government, gain valuable professional experience and build a network of fellow public servants. In partnership with multiple U.S. federal agencies, this program will give you the opportunity to experience what it’s like working for the U.S. government. The deadline to submit their summer 2019 application is January 16, 2019.
YCteen Spring Internship
If you’re a New York City teen and you like the idea of writing stories that will help your peers, YCteen may be the place for you. YCteen writers get published online and in a print magazine that’s distributed to hundreds of high schools, libraries, and community-based organizations in New York City. Teens write personal stories about their lives, and report stories about issues that affect young people. Deadline to apply for their spring internship is 2/1/2019.

CNN Worldwide is a portfolio of two dozen news and information services across every available platform to more than 2 billion people, in more than 200 countries and territories. They provide free mentoring, little to no-cost workshops and free online resources to help get you started.
Jackie Robinson Foundation
Scholarship Program
The Jackie Robinson Foundation (JRF) Scholarship program addresses the financial needs of college students and provides extensive, hands-on mentoring and support services. Once chosen from a national, selective application process, Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholars receive a generous four-year grant to attend the undergraduate school of their choice. Deadline to apply is February 1, 2019.
