Youth Lead
The NYC Youth Lead Summit engaged youth from across NYC on issues and projects under the umbrella of civic engagement! Our goal was to elevate the work that young people are doing in their schools, communities, and online, and to encourage more youth to take action. Spring Into Health
DYCD, in conjunction with the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), NYC Health + Hospitals, the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) and The Interagency Coordinating Council (ICC) on Youth hosted over 40 Spring into Health events across the City. These community gatherings engaged, encouraged, empowered, and exposed residents to an array of holistic services. Thank you to all our partners, attendees, and vendors! Volunteer & Internship Program
The New York City Department of Probation (DOP)’s Human Resources Volunteers/Internship Program (HRVIP) is a year-round program designed to provide highly motivated individuals an opportunity to work alongside dedicated professionals. Volunteers and interns obtain hands-on experience in fields that are compatible with their abilities, career goals, and college requirements. Be BRAVE Against Bullying
The United Federation of Teachers (UFT)’s BRAVE campaign aims to combat bullying in our schools. Short for Building Respect, Acceptance and Voice through Education, the BRAVE campaign provides educators, parents and students with the tools, knowledge and support to be proactive in confronting and stopping bullying. There is online help available, from background information to lesson plans—see the Resources page. The BRAVE campaign provides a hotline (212-709-3222, M-F 2:30pm -9:30pm) for students, who also can text BRAVE to 43961.
Family Reimbursement Program
Formerly United Cerebral Palsy of New York City, ADAPT Community Network is the leading human service not-for-profit and a pioneer in providing cutting edge programs and services for people with disabilities. Its Family Reimbursement program provides funds to individual with disabilities and their families. These funds cover the cost of goods/services that are not obtainable through other sources. Marcy Lab School
The Marcy Lab School is launching a program for recent high school graduates (ages 18-22) designed to prepare them for entry level software engineering jobs. Students will train at Lab full-time for one year before being placed in an apprenticeship and then a full-time job with one of its hiring partners. Community Fire Academy
What is the Brooklyn Park Community Fire Academy? Get a behind-the-scenes look and understanding of how your fire department works. The Community Fire Academy is a way to teach and show everyday folks how the Brooklyn Park Fire Department works daily. Graduates will receive a certificate of completion.

Join the Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse for free kayaking sessions from June to August. Want to go kayaking for free with an amazing view of lower Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty?
