PARKING TICKET? NO PROBLEM
Our partnership with PayNearMe makes it easy and convenient for city residents to pay their parking tickets in cash. Just download the PayNearMe app, access the amount to be paid, and show your mobile device to a cashier at any 7-Eleven store or CVS Pharmacy. Your payment will be immediately processed and you'll get a receipt, just as you would for any other purchase at that location. It's quick, safe, and right in the palm of your hand. Payment history and receipts are stored in the app and you can set reminders for upcoming payments. For more information on this program, visit: www.nyc.gov/dofpaynearme
PROTECT YOUR HOME
Deed fraud may occur when a fraudulent deed or other document is recorded against your property. Deed fraud is a serious crime, and it can happen without your knowledge. Under a new law passed by the New York City Council, Local Law 249 of 2018, the Department of Finance will now notify City residents whenever a deed or mortgage-related document is recorded against their property.

KEEP TRACK OF PROPERTY RELATED TAX INFO ONLINE
Beginning in August, new homeowners will receive Welcome Packets from the Department of Finance providing them with important property-related tax information. The Package will also detail how homeowners can save money through our exemption and abatement programs, as well as how to protect their properties from deed fraud. If you’ve received a package in the mail, please review it and set up a customer service account with us to better access this information and track your account activity. AN INSIDER'S GUIDE TO NYC PROPERTY
The Department of Finance’s digital tax maps provide a current inventory of New York’s lot lines, block and lot numbers, street names, lot dimensions and property easements. We use tax maps to maintain an updated record of data about your property; you can use them to learn more about New York City real estate and better understand how we determine property values each year. You can navigate all five boroughs in 2D and 3D, including street and aerial views, with the ability to group properties by ZIP code, city council district, community district, and more. The maps are created and maintained by the NYC tax map office. Visit the digital tax map page to get started!
CASH BAIL MADE EASIER
It is now easier than ever to pay cash bail, thanks to the Department of Correction’s new online bail payment site. With the site’s user-friendly interface, customers can pay bail remotely rather than having to travel to a Department of Corrections facility. The first payment made using the new system was from Texas, and the second was from Pennsylvania. The system is simple and straightforward. To pay bail, simply visit www.nyc.gov/doc/lookup to search the inmate database. A “Pay Bail” button will appear if the person is eligible for online bail payment. Multiple credit cards can be used to post bail, and multiple people can pay portions of the total bail amount.
The Department of Finance has significantly improved its outreach efforts to sureties – people who post bail – to ensure that they receive their refunds as quickly as possible. For more information about DOF’s bail services, visit www.nyc.gov/sheriff and click on “Cash Bail”.
