New York City said a fond farewell to the Late Show with David Letterman as the series ended its 22-year run on CBS, by declaring May 20th Late Show with David Letterman Day in the City of New York.

The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment and the Theatrical Teamsters Local 817, in partnership with the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City, have announced that El Puente, Socrates Sculpture Park, and Urban Arts Partnership have been selected to receive "Made in NY" community grants provided by the Theatrical Teamsters. As part of their commitment to New York City, the Theatrical Teamsters Local 817 has donated three $50,000 grants to support community enrichment in local neighborhoods in New York City.

In recent weeks, the "Made in NY" Production Assistant Training Program has welcomed 33 New Yorkers to its ranks of graduates, who are ready to start their careers in the film and television industry.

As June begins, new and returning "Made in NY" series head to the small screen.

In the run-up to the Tony Awards, some of the brightest stars on Broadway were on hand for Stars in the Alley, a special outdoor concert which took place in Shubert Alley in the heart of the theatre district on May 27.

The list of participating "Made in NY" Discount Card Vendors continues to grow: Hyatt Union Square New York; Big Eyes Entertainment; Hornblower Cruises & Events; Sets & Effects; TRYP by Wyndham New York Times Square; Side Door Pictures; Dusty Rose Vintage Inc.; The Marmara Park Avenue; The Marmara Manhattan; WestHouse Hotel New York; Americano Hotel; Technical Operations, Inc.; and PRG Post. These local businesses, and more than 1,200 others, provide discounts off their goods and services to production filming on location in New York City.

On April 16, Commissioner Cynthia L?pez presented a proclamation on behalf of Mayor de Blasio, declaring April 16, 2015, as A Chorus Line Day in New York City, in honor of the show's 40th anniversary at the Public Theater. Director/choreographer Baayork Lee was an original cast member of A Chorus Line when it debuted in 1975, and discusses her ongoing career in the theatre today.
