More than 30 years after the onset of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, HHC providers are seeing children born with HIV living longer and tackling the challenges of the disease as teens and young adults.

With NICHE recognition, HHC nurses are adopting age-sensitive best practices in elderly care to improve health of seniors, reduce readmission rates, and support their capacity to live independently.

Dr. Vanita Modi has spent her career providing healthcare for women, the last 12 years as part of the all-female staff at HHC’s Corona Women’s Health Center, a satellite facility of Elmhurst Hospital.
