Radiology

As the Radiology Department at Elmhurst Hospital completes the installation of full field digital mammography this summer, it will become one of the first fully filmless radiology centers in the nation. The addition of digital mammography service means that breast images will be added to the list of x-rays that are stored and read by radiologists on Elmhurst's high-power picture archiving compute system. State-of-the-art digital mammography allows better visualization of breast tissue and other body structures with fewer repeat exams. As a result, our Radiology Department is able to examine more patients and can achieve rapid diagnosis, leading to effective treatment.
