Introducing the new NYC.gov
NYC.gov has been reinvented to make every visit as fast and smart as the city itself. Guided by input from the public, visitor metrics and the customer service approach of 311, NYC.gov has been redesigned to put the user first.
What you’ll notice
The updated homepage and navigation are based on high-demand services to help you find what you are looking for right away. At a glance, you can find status updates on Alternate Side Parking, waste collection and schools.
Search results are more accurate and relevant than ever before.
Content will be analytics-driven, meaning we will surface the most searched-for information at the top, making it easier for you to find.
The overall “look and feel” have been enhanced to be more engaging and usable.
Images are larger, key facts are highlighted, and the City’s programs and services are delivered in more compelling and accessible ways.
In the event of emergencies impacting the majority of New Yorkers, NYC.gov will display a simplified homepage designed to provide only the most critical information, such as travel interruptions, safety announcements and links to resources.
Content is easily viewable across a variety of screen sizes and devices, including mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.
The redesigned Jobs section brings together all City employment-related opportunities and resources.
Citywide events and featured free activities in all five boroughs are viewable on maps and easily searchable.
The “311 Booker” – a new interactive tool provides an easy way to look up information on city services and submit requests directly from the homepage.
Stay connected when you are not on NYC.gov by following any one of the City’s 300+ social media channels, downloading a mobile app from the Apps hub, or subscribing to a newsletter.
Social media sharing is prominently featured on all content pages to make sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr and Email a click away.
To engage and support all users, NYC.gov now translates content in 72 languages and surpasses Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements.
