Thank you so much for joining us today. I know that you have a busy agenda this Sunday, but I want to start asking you. 

Alcalde Adams, ¿cuál es tu reacción después del anuncio del presidente de que no va a seguir corriendo su campaña electoral para la presidencia?

Translation: Mayor Adams, what is your reaction after the president's announcement that he will not continue running his electoral campaign for the presidency?

Mayor Eric Adams: Él es un gran patriota. Es extremadamente difícil poner tus aspiraciones a un lado para hacer lo mejor para el país. El anuncio representa cómo ha servido a la nación. 

Translation: I believe it really personifies how much he is a great patriot. It is extremely difficult to put your aspirations aside to do what is best for the country. The announcement represents how he has served the nation.

Translation: ​​Anyone who has gone through politics, they know that four months is a lifetime. These are the things that start to heat up at conventions. It is important for Democrats to have a clear message. Our problem at the border and a future for the country's families.

Lluberes: Biden dice que él está apoyando a Kamala Harris. ¿Usted también la apoya?

Translation: Biden says he is supporting Kamala Harris. Do you also support her?

Mayor Adams: Yo dije que apoyaría a Biden. Tengo mucho respeto por él. Él ha hecho su endorse y como delegado tengo que reunirme con los demás para hablar de los próximos pasos a seguir.

Translation: I said I was riding with Biden. I have a lot of respect for him. He has made his endorsement and as a delegate I have to meet with the others to talk about the next steps to follow.

Translation: And what message would you send to the next Democratic candidate, especially how will they ensure the needs of the Big Apple are addressed?

Mayor Adams: Los neoyorquinos necesitan calles seguras, una política para enfrentar la frontera y poder enfrentarse a los problemas financieros.

Translation: They want safe streets, they want a real border policy and be able to face financial problems.
