September 21, 2022

NEW YORK – New York City Mayor Eric Adams today released the following statement on the opening of a new campus for St. Francis College at 179 Livingston Street in Brooklyn:

“For more than 160 years, St. Francis College has helped connect young people in Brooklyn and across the five boroughs to greater opportunity. I was proud to support St. Francis during my time as Brooklyn Borough President, and I’m pleased that the city was able to partner with them to help facilitate this new state-of-the-art campus. The 21st-century facilities available at the college’s new home will ensure that more generations of students have the skills to compete for the jobs of the future, and the creativity needed to help solve the challenges facing our city Congratulations to the entire St. Francis community.”

In order to facilitate the move to the new campus, the City of New York and St. Francis College updated a preexisting agreement and formalized a number of important benefits for New York City public school students, including:

  • The New York City Department of Education will have use of four classrooms, an auditorium, science and computer labs, and a number of other learning and cultural spaces at the college’s brand-new facility. Each of these dedicated spaces are equipped with enhanced technology to keep the college and the city on the leading edge of new developments.
  • St. Francis College will provide full tuition scholarships to two New York City public school students each academic year.
  • St. Francis will also offer 15 seats to New York City public school students in its Summer Science Academy and Summer Entrepreneur Camps free of charge.
