ACS Youth Meet New York Islanders Hockey Player Anders Lee and Watch the Annual Blue & White Scrimmage

Approximately 65 youth in ACS foster care and detention programs got an incredible opportunity to meet New York Islander hockey player Anders Lee and to watch the annual Islanders Blue & White Scrimmage game at Barclays Center on Wednesday July 8, 2015. The game featured the 2015 Islanders draft class who competed against the team’s top young prospects. Among the youth and staff who met Lee and enjoyed the exciting, fast-paced game were Eric Brettschneider, ACS First Deputy Commissioner and Sonia Galarza, Director of In-Kind & Pro-Bono Resources who facilitated the event with representatives from Barclays Center and the Islanders organization.  Each youth was outfitted with an Islander t-shirt, and each received an autograph picture of Lee. Youth lined up to shake hands with the hockey star, pose for pictures and to get his autograph on their t-shirts!
